1800's French Walnut 4 PC Bedroom Suit

12,000.00

Offered for sale is an antique French 4 piece bedroom suite attributed to cabinet maker Paul Sormani of Paris.  This set is made of Circassian walnut with beautiful bronze ormolu and was made in France in the 1800's.  The armoire has a siingle mirrored door with curved sides and measures 102" H x 80" W.  The bed is 59.5" H x 68"W with beautiful ormolu on headboard and footboard.  The vanity is 65" H x 48" W.  The bedside table has a marble top.  This set was purchased at Great Gatsby's Auction in Jan 1996 by the present owner.  They paid $17,500.  A copy of the auction catalog and receipt are part of the pictures.  The bed and armoire have ormolu candlestick holders because this set was made before electricity was available.  The candleholders were wired in the 1900's, however, they need rewiring for current use with bulbs. This is an exquisite set that is hard to find today, even in France!  Please call the Antique Attic, 334-792-5040, with questions.
